Could not have chosen a better agent

I interviewed several real estate agents before partnering with Debora.  As a nervous and naieve first-time seller, it was critical that I find the right person for the job.  Debora made me feel comfortable and at ease from our very first conversation.  She really listened to my needs and concerns and made sure I understood everything that was happening and what to expect next.  She priced the home aggressively and we were under contract for well over asking price a day after it hit the market.  She is so knowledgeable, professional, responsive and trustworthy, and not a single issue came up along the way that she couldn’t handle.  Her expertise and negotiation skills are unparalleled, and she kept things moving along to close the deal in a timely manner with our somewhat trying buyer/agent.  She is patient, kind and delightful, a strong and calming presence and just a joy to be around.  Real estate is a very significant and extremely personal transaction and Debora guided me through the entire process with ease, always keeping my best interest her priority.  She works very hard for her clients, is generous with her time and energy, goes above and beyond to get results, and I honestly could not have chosen a better agent to represent me.  I would recommend Debora without hesitation.  ~ Lisa R.

Exceeded Our Expectations

My husband and were so privileged to have worked with Debora on 3 different transactions now. There really are no words to capture how she exceeded our expectations of her role each time. I will give just a few examples of how she went above and beyond for us. Debora arranged and met contractors at our rental property in order to save us the hassle. With 2 young kids and 4 dogs, I dreaded the showings of our home. We arranged to leave for an afternoon and neighbors reported a line of potential buyers waiting outside. In just one day, we had 5 amazing offers and no need to have any more showings. She was able to pull off a smooth closing on our new home despite working with a difficult seller agent. Debora is so responsive and dedicated to her clients, it’s hard to imagine she has a life outside of meeting her clients needs. We will only utilize her as a realtor in the future and take pride when recommending her to anyone in need of a real estate agent.

Getting Ready for Home Showings

dining room photoYou’ve received a phone call that someone wants to see your home after seeing it in the MLS.  What should you do to get your home ready for the showing?  Assuming you’ve worked with your agent on properly staging and preparing your home for professional photos and listing in the MLS, here are some easy steps that will help you to get your home ready for showings.

First, make your home light and bright!  Turn on all of the lights in your home, and open all of the curtains and blinds on your windows.  Buyers love to see bright, well-lit homes, and these quick steps will show off your every corner of your beautiful home.

Second, maximize curb appeal! Sweep out your front entryway, make sure the front yard is landscaped and free of any debris, and turn on any water features you may have in your backyard, to show off your pool and/or spa.  This will help the buyer visualize how to enjoy these spaces if they purchase your home.

Third, declutter!  Do a quick sweep throughout your home to remove any and all miscellaneous items from floors and countertops that don’t belong in those areas.  Buyers want to be able to envision themselves in the spaces in your home, so removing distractions of your personal items is the best way to achieve this.  One suggestion is to keep an empty laundry basket handy before showings, so you can corral any clutter quickly and then stash in a closet.

Finally, spot clean!  Do a quick wipe down of your bathroom counters, toilets and mirrors (Windex wipes are fantastic for this), to make these areas sparkle.  Again, the goal is to have buyers imagine living in your home, so keeping these personal areas sparkling clean will go a long way toward this goal.

I’d be happy to give you more tips to help you maximize the effect of showings specific to your home, but this checklist should be a good start.
